Island Icons is a portrait of the people who shape Galveston from the ground up—the diverse and working-class voices, stories, and histories that often go unseen. Through custom headdresses, storytelling, and a photography series, each participant is honored as both subject and ambassador. This PhilanthroVision grant award brings art and community together to celebrate the identity, resilience, and spirit of the island.
